John Z. Goriup Posted February 16, 2016 Share #1 Posted February 16, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) A '66 Ferrari 275 GTB/C Scaglietti Berlinetta lightweight, all-aluminum Competizione Coupe, one of only 12 built that year for long-distance endurance events. Significant racing provenance at the '66 24 Hours of LeMans carrying the Luigi Chinetti N.A.R.T. banner, then sold to William Harrah and driven in that year's Road America 500 by Denise McCluggage. The incredible fact about this car is its amazingly original condition, exactly as last raced, and that it has never been subjected to the typical over-the-top restoration process so prevalent these days, which in my view totally destroys the car's persona and credibility. This car was driven to Carmel from the Bay area, participated in & completed the 2015 PB Tour, was entered in the Pebble Beach Concours, where it won its class and then was driven home at day's end……..Enzo would have approved. John Z. Goriup Posted February 16, 2016 Author Share #3 Posted February 16, 2016 Thank you - incidentally, before anyone admonishes me about the color, permit me mention that it's not poor post-processing, but this car is not painted in the traditional lipstick red, famous & traditional Charro Rosso red, rather, a highly unusual pinkish Raspberry shade as shown. At the time Enzo insisted that the N.A.R.T. cars had to be painted a different color than the factory team cars so folks wouldn't confuse them for factory entries, since this particular car was only finished four days before the flag dropped at the '66 24 hour race at LeSarthe, had a brand-new chassis and noone knew exactly what to expect performance-wise in the actual race…..it finished 15th overall.
