Sultan of Swing Posted February 9, 2016 Share #1 Posted February 9, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I want to start a new thread. Just portraits with the Q. Normally the 28mm of the Q ist not a typical focal length to do portraits. I want to see how you are doing it. With or without crop. Here's my contribution (crop 50mm):
Advertisement Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Hi Sultan of Swing, Take a look here Leica Q - Portrait. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
MickyW Posted February 9, 2016 Share #2 Posted February 9, 2016 (edited) Took this in the pub the other evening ... family and friends. The Q seems OK for portraits to me! .... and another one, no crop! Edited February 9, 2016 by MickyW
mgrayson3 Posted February 9, 2016 Share #3 Posted February 9, 2016 I posted this back in November (before I had my own Q). The gentleman here let me borrow his and I repaid his kindness with this portrait. He really deserves better! --Matt

wda Posted February 9, 2016 Share #6 Posted February 9, 2016 Not able to contribute yet, but from my experience with the 28mm focal length on film and digital, I found it only works in an acceptable way when the subject is far enough away to remove distortion from the face and features. I do like it when it shows an interesting setting, yet close enough for the subject(s) to be recognized as portraits.

Lucena Posted February 14, 2016 Share #18 Posted February 14, 2016 These are my first issues in portrait with the Q. It was not the type of pics I was keen on taking as a almost close uo (I prefer 300mm not to be "seen" by the portraitee and a more natural effect) ,first time I have pleasure with this is with the Q. hawk.kat Posted February 19, 2016 Share #19 Posted February 19, 2016 The 28mm is truly quite versatile.
beauport Posted September 10, 2016 Share #20 Posted September 10, 2016 Not truly portraiture, but the Q works well for candids, casuals and street work. Welcome, dear visitor!
