PaulJohn Posted February 6, 2016 Share #1 Posted February 6, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I suspect they will hold back as they would have to reduce the price like they did with the 262. I suspect it would eat into 246 sales. I think many would prefer a 262 style monochrom. I know i would. Thoughts?
Advertisement Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Hi PaulJohn, Take a look here Will they do a monochrom ala 262. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wattsy Posted February 6, 2016 Share #2 Posted February 6, 2016 I suspect they will hold back as they would have to reduce the price like they did with the 262. I suspect it would eat into 246 sales. The M246 is already discounted to £4990 (a saving of £750 to RRP) by at least one UK authorised dealer. I'm not sure that Leica would want to put any further pressure on the price. markforce Posted February 6, 2016 Share #3 Posted February 6, 2016 I would imagine that a next version of the MM will come on the heels of any future iteration of the M only.
ramosa Posted February 6, 2016 Share #4 Posted February 6, 2016 (edited) i would buy it over the M246, but, as others have said, the next iteration of the Monochrom is likely a couple years away and will be based on the next M (which may be announced this fall). Belle123 Posted February 7, 2016 Share #5 Posted February 7, 2016 If a 262 version of the monochrome were available when I bought, would have gone for it. Now, think my 246 is probably my last M. Doesn't get much better. I would, however, consider a monochrome T or SL.
Giulio Zanni Posted February 7, 2016 Share #6 Posted February 7, 2016 I hope they will maintain live view and introduce all the novelties of the next iteration of the M in the next Monochrom. Why going back? I would gladly give up on video though

jaapv Posted February 7, 2016 Share #8 Posted February 7, 2016 With the market for Monochroms as small as it is, how many models can be viable? One at a time, I would say.
james.liam Posted February 9, 2016 Share #9 Posted February 9, 2016 I think many would prefer a 262 style monochrom. I know i would. Thoughts? A minimalist Monochrom? It's called the MM v.
