sanyasi Posted February 2, 2016 Share #1 Posted February 2, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hahnemuhle has announced that they will be selling an 8.27 by 23.386 paper designed for panoramas. It will be available in Photo Rag 308 and Photo Rag Baryta. http://www.imaging-resource.com/news/2016/01/28/easily-print-panoramas-with-hahnemuehles-new-pano-format-papers Two questions: Has anyone used the Photo Rag Baryta? Is it a matte paper? I am a bit puzzled by the dimensions. The Photoshop packages a 16:9 template as part of its crop tool, which is a 1.78 ratio. The 23.286/8.27 is a 2.83 ratio. What is the thinking on the extreme length versus width? Is there a standard panorama ratio? Thanks Jack Siegel
Advertisement Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Hi sanyasi, Take a look here Hahnemuhle Pano Paper. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jeff S Posted February 3, 2016 Share #2 Posted February 3, 2016 Photo Rag Baryta is a gloss baryta paper.....check out the specs. I now prefer the Canson line instead, but PRB was one of my chosen papers when I used Hahnemuhle. It's a thicker paper that had some feed issues on my machine, but nice surface texture and tone. One could just as easily buy 17x 22 paper, which is pretty much standard across brands, and cut it in half. A panorama is whatever size you want to make it....depending on preferences as well as camera format and intended display.....some do wall size using roll paper. The aspect ratio may vary from 2:1 to 10:1 to whatever... Jeff
