BCMielke Posted February 2, 2016 Share #1 Posted February 2, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) How is everyone mounting their T on a Tripod? I have a really small Kirk plate right now, but wondered if there was anything better? Thanks
Advertisement Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Hi BCMielke, Take a look here Leica T Tripod. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
gbealnz Posted February 2, 2016 Share #2 Posted February 2, 2016 Simple, and neat, straight on. I have a pair of (one HUGE, the other very lightweight) Benbo's. Simple 1/4" screw for me. Just like the old days. Gary
MichaelU Posted February 2, 2016 Share #3 Posted February 2, 2016 I have a Sirui Carbon travel tripod (weight around 800 g). The plate of this is Acra compatible. Along with my T, I use a Peak Design Capture Pro Clip. It's Acra compatible plate is always on my T. I like this combo very much. I decided to use the plate because I do not have to remove the Leica Leather Protector from my T when it is used on the tripod.
brill64 Posted February 3, 2016 Share #4 Posted February 3, 2016 i use an aluminium "Really Right Stuff" table-top tripod, which is just amazing. if i need something taller, a "Velbon Cube" with telescopic legs is very compact, stable & not overkill for the small T size. SirPiet Posted February 3, 2016 Share #5 Posted February 3, 2016 just using the included screw mount plate from my Slik Carbon PRO 723AF & AF-1100E. Fortunately, the T is light enough to be used with the pistol handle ball head.
AndreasAM Posted February 3, 2016 Share #6 Posted February 3, 2016 There is a same sort of thread going on in the SL section: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/256136-tripod-for-sl-recommendations-please/ I think you will find some very useful tips here. I have included my experiences with my Gitzo-tripod (and the T) in post #

MichaelU Posted February 12, 2016 Share #10 Posted February 12, 2016 Hi Michael, I'm looking for a similar solution regarding keeping the leather protector on camera. How does the arrangement work? Regards Mike Hi Mike, it works great. I replaced the original screw of the leather protector by a one with a with a lever. This allows fast access to the SD card and battery. As mentioned the leather protector along with the small Acra plate is always on my T.

MichaelU Posted February 13, 2016 Share #12 Posted February 13, 2016 (edited) Hi Mike, I got it from eBay. Please note that the lenght of the shaft (without screw head) needs to be 13 mm as it has to go through the Peak Design Acra plate and the leather protector. Best regards, Michael Edited February 13, 2016 by MichaelU
jevidon Posted February 22, 2016 Share #13 Posted February 22, 2016 What make is the leather protector? I like the black with red thread, but the only Leica one I have seen is gray. I notice that yours is embossed with 'Leica'. Where did you get it?
MichaelU Posted February 22, 2016 Share #14 Posted February 22, 2016 (edited) It is the official leather protector for the T by Leica http://us.leica-camera.com/Photography/Leica-T/Accessories-for-Leica-T/Leather-protector You're right it is grey. There is a black one available by Artisan & Artist. Edited February 22, 2016 by MichaelU
BCMielke Posted February 23, 2016 Author Share #15 Posted February 23, 2016 I have the Peak clip and it is square and much larger than the one in the photo. Is there a smaller clip available that I could just purchase and not spend the money again on the whole attachment? Many thanks Michael, one last question where is the screw with the lever obtained from? Regards Mike
