I only managed to photograph the great Sir Terry Wogan once for my In the Frame series back in 2011. He was utterly charming and certainly up for a bit of fun.

 

British broadcasting will certainly be much the poorer. The BBC have had 2 stellar Radio presenters in the last 40 years - Terry and the great John Peel. Alas I never met John. But Terry went on to do so much other work on TV, in particular raising millions every year for BBC Children in Need.

The loss of a truly great man and broadcaster.

 

I still recall crying with laughter at the priceless 'Janet and John' stories on his R2 show.  On most occasions, the great man himself could barely speak whilst reading them.

 

That, and his wry commentaries on that ridiculous Eurovision thing...

 

Rest in Peace Sir Terry.

Thank you, I can put a face to a voice now. I remember a radio show "Wake up to Wogan", while driving to work, when I lived in Manchester.

 

Rest in Peace, I obviously still remember this show after more than ten years.

Great photo, and a great man. Loved Terry Wogan in the late 70's -  as kid I would listen to him before going to school. Sad.  Rest in Peace.
