Best bang for the buck IMHO is the Leica 35 Summarit f/2.5 (recent version).

I enjoyed Ashwin's article on it where he states:

Great. Thank you. Actually out shooting yesterday with the 50/2 Summicron and I loved it. I'll probably get the 90 Summarit down the line for portraits.

There are several versions of the Summicron 50. For your M6 I would take a version IV or V. Great optics for a valuable price, compact design. The new summarits are also a very good choice. You can't go wrong with one of those lenses.

If you want a real grat lens for a very valuable price you should take a look at the Minolta M- Rokkor 4/90. Tiny, lightweight, Leica built quality.

Hey guys,

Just wanted to say thanks again for all of the advice. I decided on a 28/50/90 set up. The 35 is such a classic focal length but in the end I needed something wide and the 35 is too close to the 50 in that regard. I've had my M Leica for about a week and I still waiting on my first couple of rolls to come back. I'll be sure to share some results! Also, here is my M6. I love it! I have more info on it in the M6 thread.
