Several years ago I was out walking and came across this scene. One squirrel had been hit by a car and killed. The one standing next to the body was, I suppose, either a mate or just one of the gang. Seeing this made me wonder very seriously whether we underestimate other animal's capacity for emotion. Yeah, they eat my bird seed, too. But it's hard to blame them for going after a food source I put in front of them. I get as much enjoyment watching their antics as I do watching the birds.

Cheers,

Louis,

a great b&w capture!

Brent,

you completed Louis's story with a fantastic capture.

Yes, we can hardly blame those furry animals when we invite them with food. Are we involved emotionally? Yes, we are and thi is good.

Thank you both for the story!   :)
