I finally made s website.

Ever since I started digital photography I've been meaning to get around to making a website. I tried Instagram and Flickr but recently they've felt like people only like your pictures and follow you to get followed back. I've been posting on forums for a while so I thought I'd put this all in one place.

 

At the moment it's a mix of my experiences with film photography, discussion of my favourite photos both mine and of others and photo essays.

 

I'd love it if you could check it out and let me know what you think.

I'm sorry to say that I don't think your WordPress web page does your pictures justice.  I looked for larger images but just get a magnifying glass which doesn't seem to do anything.  I also looked for more images but again couldn't find any however its early days so perhaps I should not criticise.  I also think your title dominates the first page and doesn't encourage further exploration. Some 7 years ago I thought about building my own site but after several attempts gave up and sourced a commercial web page.  I have, for the last seven years, used Zenfolio and the site has got better and better.  Since the site does not compress your images they can be downloaded by you or anyone else you authorise at any time should disaster strike.  Yes, the site uses compressed images when viewed but it is for speed of download and I have not found any image of mine unacceptable.

Thanks that's really helpful! It's very early days so i really appreciate the feedback. What browser/operating system are you using?

a slightly late convert from Windows 7 to Windows 10 but seriously pleased with it. Used IE11 but have changed to Edge, much faster and when full screen facility is on board will have no regrets...

I've not tried it on edge I use chrome. I'll have to see what's wrong with the links. Most should take you to Flickr. I converted to windows 10 too, big improvement on 7 I think.
