Cannot Activate HDR in Snapshot Mode

Using a D-Lux 109 and following instructions set forth in the manual I am trying to sequentially program the recommended settings in Snapshot mode. The HDR function will not let me "in" to activate it. I am assuming this is due to another function (unbeknownst to me) being activated that defeats/overides the HDR mode?

Any advice is appreciated, my head is getting sore from beating it against the wall.....................
