LIGHTROOM DOWNLOAD PROBLEM

I have just received the Leica Q, one of the selling points is the free Lightroom download.  When I try to download it will only give me the Cloud monthly payment option. Can anyone tell me how to download the stand alone version?  Would appreciate any help, thank you.

To be clear, - as pedaes and Uwe m suggest,  and to avoid being directed to the cloud-based version, you should only start your free download process from the Leica owner's  website.  You will log in and  register your camera and on the Leica Owner's website you will be provided with a link to the standalone licence Lightroom version and will be provided with a code to enter at installation.  It's a two stage process.  Just downloading directly from Adobe wil lead you to problems although some users have reported that they have eventually ended up with a good installation.

This subject has already been clearly discussed and can be found through a search of this forum.

What I did:

  1. Go to https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/lightroom-downloads.html and download Lightroom 6.3 for your system.
  2. Go to the Leica website and do whatever you have to do (I don't remember) to get the TAN number transformed into the Adobe authorization code (looks like this: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX). Don't download anything associated with CC.
  3. Install LR6.3.
  4. Run LR6.3 and use the authorization code.

(You need LR6.3 if you are using an SL as it is the first version that includes the camera calibration profile for the SL DNG files.)
