Danke, Holger, für den Hinweis.

 

W.E. war bereits im Studium einer meiner "Lehrmeister". Ich hatte über den Wandel seiner Bildästhetik beim Übergang vom Arbeiten mit der 8x10' und 4x5' zur Leica im Rahmen seiner  Farm Security Administration works gearbeitet.

 

In der Library of Congress sind übrigens eine ganze Reihe seiner FSA-Fotos als hochaufgelöstes TIFF frei herunter zu laden. Einfacher kommt man an keine "Originale" der damals besten amerikanischen Fotografen.

 

Ich hatte im Frühjahr 2013 schon die Gelegenheit wahr genommen, eine sehr gut kuratierte Ausstellung seiner Bilder einschließlich Beispielen ihrer Verwertung im Linzer Landesmuseum anzuschauen:
