TMorita Posted December 11, 2015 Share #1 Posted December 11, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I found a firmware bug today. It happens occasionally, so it may require a few tries to replicate it. o Turn on LXV o Enabler bracketed exposures o Take photo o While "Data Transfer" text is on the screen, turn off the LXV o Sometimes the yellow light will stay on forever I took a bunch of bracket shots today, and it started raining so I turned off the LXV very quickly and drove home When I got home, I noticed the yellow light was still on. gbealnz Posted December 11, 2015 Share #5 Posted December 11, 2015 OK, thanks, I will try this tomorrow. I have occasionally found that if I turn the aperture ring while the meter is "thinking", I get a lockup, with the red light flickering on the rear. Not every time, only on the odd occasion. I get avoid this by selecting the desired aperture prior to metering. Gary
wda Posted December 11, 2015 Share #6 Posted December 11, 2015 Interrupting a camera firmware operation is to invite trouble. Play safely.
gbealnz Posted December 11, 2015 Share #7 Posted December 11, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Fully agree David, with the bracketing sequence being interupted. My comment about turning the aperture ring though, not really interupting anything surely? And without wanting to hijack this thread, it could be my camera only that shows this behaviour?Gary
TMorita Posted December 13, 2015 Author Share #8 Posted December 13, 2015 The bracketing sequence wasn't being interrupted. I just turned off the camera while it was writing to the SD card. The LXV (like most cameras) turns off the camera in software, so it doesn't actually turn off until writing to the SD card is finished. It does, however, sometimes forget to turn off the yellow "writing to SD card" light. Toshi
imported_steven Posted July 12, 2016 Share #9 Posted July 12, 2016 Good Evening, I am new at this. I just purchased a new Leica X-Varo and I downloaded the Leica X-Vario Firmware update version 1.1 to my iMac. I then inserted a new Sandisk Extreme SDCH UHS-1 Card into my iMac copied the XV-1_100.upd to the UHS-1 Card. Then I inserted it into my new X-Vario. As I switched it on I pressed and held the info button and a screen appeared asking if I wanted to install this firmware update. I pressed yes then it asked me to pree the OK button?? I can't find the OK button!! I said this is new to me. If some one could please tell me how to press OK, it would make my day. Thank you. steven
Trivette Posted July 13, 2016 Share #10 Posted July 13, 2016 I think you press the MENU/SET confirmation button.
imported_steven Posted July 13, 2016 Share #11 Posted July 13, 2016 Good Morning Benutzer, Thank you for your reply. Firmware update 1.1 installed. It took about three minutes. When I first tried to install Firmware 1.1 it asked me to press OK. I could not find the word OK anywhere on the camera or in the manual! It should have asked me to press Menu/Set. Easy for everyone. I did not want to make any mistakes! Did you purchase the Leica EVF 2 Electronic Viewfinder # 18753? What do you think about the Handgrip and Finger Loops? I live in an area where there isn't a Leica Boutique for at least a 8 to 10 hours drive one way and no one in my area to talk about new camera. Thank you. Guytou Posted July 13, 2016 Share #12 Posted July 13, 2016 (edited) Hello imported-steven, I have also X Vario (excellent !) and I use the EVF2 Leica. I am very satisfied with this sight because he allows me to aim normally with my eye, especially by big sun. All the functions of the device which are displayed on the back screen can be also found in this sight. Trivette Posted July 13, 2016 Share #13 Posted July 13, 2016 I have the Olympus VF 2 (essentially the same as the Leica EVF 2) and the Leica Handgrip. They work perfectly. I wouldn't be without them.
