Advertisement Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Hi Jay B, Take a look here Bow Detail, Schooner Appledore. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
gwpics Posted November 30, 2015 Share #2 Posted November 30, 2015 This is a nice detailed shot Jay which I really like. Appledore is of course a small town in Devon, England, renowned for its prowess in timber shipbuilding. As a small boy I was taken there and for a small fee paid by my parents I was allowed to hammer a nail into a reproduction of the 'Mayflower' which carried the settlers to the United States. Many, many years later I saw that same ship in Plymouth USA and those memories came flooding back to me. Thank you for taking me back there again. Hunebed Posted November 30, 2015 Share #3 Posted November 30, 2015 Beautiful capture of a well used ship, with the scuffs, weathering in the wood and the wear in the ropes. I would not be keen to hoist the anchor back in storage in rough weather.
