Robinyuill Posted November 27, 2015 Share #1 Posted November 27, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi there. Have a chance to get an M7. I've looked on the forum for plus/negative comments but I'd like to clarify a couple of points. It's in great condition but it's one of the U.K. Flag models(2002). I'm not getting it because it's the flagged one as they're not that special but it's fitted with the original DX reader and I'm not sure which viewfinder it has, as in if its an upgrade from the type that's prone to flare. How much of a 'problem' is the DX reader? I've no worry of using the normal way of setting the film speed but I'll pass on this camera if there is a real concern over the DX / viewfinder type on this camera. I've got a great M6 but I like the idea of having the aperture priority as well. Thanks and regards Robin.

madNbad Posted November 27, 2015 Share #2 Posted November 27, 2015 Later versions of the M7 in addition to the change in the DX reader also have the same viewfinder as an MP with the multicoated windows. They also have the upgraded shutter seals.
R6M6 Posted November 27, 2015 Share #3 Posted November 27, 2015 Leica exchanged the DX reader during an inspection free of charge. My M7 has the older version of finder same as my M6. To change in the MP version should cost 240 €. I stick with the original.
