gpwhite Posted November 27, 2015 Share #1 Posted November 27, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Like many indulgences, mounting the Super Elmarit-R 15mm onto the SL started a bit rough. The camera locked up so that all functions worked except the sensor! Lots of menus and replay was available from the card, but zip coming from the sensor. Many buttons and trials later, I reset everything, and straight-laced shutter function returned. Of course, I lost all of my profiles (which are hardly trivial on the SL menu miasma). I believe the R adaptor tossed the SL into a tizzy, so beware. The 15mm images on the SL are wonderful. A match made in Wetzlar heaven! Welcome, dear visitor! ramarren Posted November 27, 2015 Share #2 Posted November 27, 2015 I don't know what caused your camera to have a hissy over the R Adapter, if that truly was the issue, but I'm glad you've gotten it back to normal. Handsome camera with that lens on it. I should do a round of beauty shots of the SL. Hmm, maybe now... Just for the record, I have yet to see any need to do a reset on the SL and the R Adapter M stacked on the M Adapter T has worked flawlessly in all cases. Oh, and I just recalled that I haven't tried the Telyt 250 + 2x Extender-R combination on it yet. Time to get out the tripod!
Mike Woods Posted November 27, 2015 Share #3 Posted November 27, 2015 Would be nice to see the SL with the 0.95 if anyone has that combination available? Mike

Ramarren, I was hoping to spur forum members into action to show their fancy glass mounted on the SL. Please do! Regarding my shutter crash, I was very surprised. I have only shot M lenses, and alles in Ordnung. This morning, I removed my 24 Elmarit and twisted on the 15-R with its Leica R-M adapter. Boom... just like when the M8 would self destruct (I went through three M8's before a keeper). After trying everything you can imagine, including the camera reset function, I was frustrated enough to call my dealer. He had no ideas either. So I removed all of the adapters, reset camera again, and then started up. Voila. My interpretation is that when the R adapter went on over the M-T adapter initially, the SL got confused and froze something. The vignetting correction for the 15mm on the SL is fantastic, BTW. Far, far superior to the M.

CharlesL Posted December 11, 2015 Share #6 Posted December 11, 2015 This shot shows the SL in the case at a Leica franchise store. The camera is about as wide as the pen is long. The lens is the big gorilla. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! I haven't had a chance to take a really spectacular landscape with great light, but I shot some city night lights and reflections down near the limits of the SL's metering and the 15 came through nicely: L1000077 by scott kirkpatrick, on Flickr L1000079 by scott kirkpatrick, on Flickr scott
