XVarior Posted November 20, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted November 20, 2015 Thanks Jeffry. I was confused about the lens used. This is the Elmarit 28mm. not the 35mm. Sorry for the misinformation.
Neil Macmillan Posted November 21, 2015 Share #5 Posted November 21, 2015 The one thing that makes me vote B&W in this instance is the sparkly fabric on the model's outer item of clothing. It is far less distracting in the black and white shot. With total black clothing, or clothing on tone with the skin and hair, there would be a marvellous warm toned monochrome in the colour version. But the blue sparkles detract from that. And you can't really crop out the sparkles.
fotografr Posted November 21, 2015 Share #6 Posted November 21, 2015 Color for me, mainly because in this instance the shadow detail seems better in the color version. Her eyes are very dark in the b&w.

Her eyes are very dark in the b&w.You're right regarding the shadows in B&W, reducing a bit the contrast Will solve the issue
XVarior Posted November 21, 2015 Author Share #10 Posted November 21, 2015 Very nice. Maybe the color.A bit more glamorous right?
Printmaker Posted November 23, 2015 Share #11 Posted November 23, 2015 I like both versions. You can always tone down the lower right in LR or Camera Raw by using a slight vignette. But I would not have noticed the sparkles if they were not mentioned above.

But I would not have noticed the sparkles if they were not mentioned above. You're right, or desaturated the sparkles. I've also tried a 16:9 version which crop that part and it looked good too. Thanks for looking and for the tip.

AnnYoung Posted June 6, 2017 Share #15 Posted June 6, 2017 Love it! I would love to see a video of your editing! Maybe it will help to stop outsourcing images to freelancers or companies as Lavalu and fixthephoto.com. This photo enhancement services make a great job but I want to do it by myself. Everything you guys do is so awesome, so creative, and so helpful. You rule!
Bateleur Posted June 6, 2017 Share #16 Posted June 6, 2017 Each version has its own quality, the black and white has an intimacy and drama to my mind and needs contemplation while the colour version is easy on the eye. But each to their own and it's a great photo, make up artists deserve some attention to Our! Thanks Charles
Louis Posted June 6, 2017 Share #17 Posted June 6, 2017 Dear Rodrigue, I do remember this shot very well and even made some comments in the other site, where I am not very often anymore! I am glad to see it again, and without remembering what I said six months ago, I think I prefer it in color this time!... ;-) Hope to see you posting soon again.
