Advertisement Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Hi ShivaYash, Take a look here M-E officially discontinued?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
earleygallery Posted November 20, 2015 Share #2 Posted November 20, 2015 Leica have stated their intention is to provide spares/back up for 10 years after production ceases for any products.
jip Posted November 20, 2015 Share #3 Posted November 20, 2015 So 10 years from now... the M-E has been discontinued and so is the M9/M9-P of course... so serviceability will be there until AT LEAST 2025
earleygallery Posted November 20, 2015 Share #4 Posted November 20, 2015 Well not quite, they intend to provide for up to 10 years from end of production. I'm guessing they have sought similar assurances from their suppliers as I doubt they can just stockpile components on the off-chance they'll be needed, and as we know, some electronic components are not easily replaceable with similar components from later models of the same camera (M8 LCD v M9 LCD for example). But 10 years is as much as anyone should expect for a digital product I think.
