Advertisement Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Hi whalim88, Take a look here Children. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Sparkassenkunde Posted November 19, 2015 Share #2 Posted November 19, 2015 Nice girl with a dreamy look I don't like the white balance in the color version, as it makes the skin look yellowish/greenish. I played with your file in LR and adjusted it to my liking. If you don´t mind, I could post it here.

Neil Macmillan Posted November 20, 2015 Share #6 Posted November 20, 2015 As a new photographer, you are taking on a significant challenge here. By that I mean very tricky lighting with the small areas that are directly lit in comparison to the rest. The film mantra of "expose for the shadows; develop for the highlights" could be given a somewhat equivalent digital interpretation here. You could probably have exposed less, to the point where the bright patch on the shoulder would have been not quite washed out. Any slight overexposure could have been tamed in post processing and maybe the darker areas would require lifting as well.

Sparkassenkunde Posted November 20, 2015 Share #8 Posted November 20, 2015 This was done quick and dirty. I guess the original file holds a lot more information, so there should be plenty more possibilities to get a decent image. With this low resolution jpeg there is not that much more to improve - but maybe someone here can do a better job... At the end only you can say, what the colors where in reality, and also, in which way you would change the initial settings. I encourage you to try out the sliders in your pp software one by one to learn what they do exactly. Thanks for posting and I wish you good luck and light Welcome, dear visitor!
