Television Reporters:

In my day job I am court magistrate in a court in Michigan. I was about to arraign a man accused of a double

murder. The case attracted a great deal of local interest. My courtroom filled up with reporters. I grabbed

my camera and told them since they were there to take pictures, I was going to turn the tables on them. SL with SL24-90.

Thanks for looking,

Mark

I had a business trip to Monaco and the flight arrangements afforded me the best part of a day to myself, which I obviously used very productively.

I can't decide which of these two I like best and wondered what you all thought. It's the inside of a small, traditional Japanese building in the Jardin Japonias du Monaco, which is just sublime.

The picture you took off, near the market, was near a cambodgian restaurant that I know very well, wasn't it? :)

Do you mean this one?

If so I am not sure about the restaurant you're referring to, I was only there for a few days. This location though is actually up the hill and in France, not Monaco. It was interesting because I found Monaco to be really rather unpleasant. It's not a real place, at least to say it feels like it exists in a bubble, utterly disconnected from the real world and populated by so many vacuous individuals with far more money than imagination. From a photography perspective, it was desperately uninteresting. I was walking around with my camera and not taking any pictures and then suddenly I looked around and realised that the environment had become interesting again. This market was so much more interesting and then I realised I’d actually crossed the border back into France!

This is the inside part of that same market:
