Leica Slow speed attachment (HEBOO)

Cleaning out the collection drawers produced this group of HEBOO attachments. The top row are nickel trim while all the others are in chrome trim.  With the leather case (ETOOQ) the code name became HEOOL. This attachment allowed the use of the slow speeds of 1/8th to 1 second for the models A, C, D and E (I, II and STD). It was reportedly made from 1934 to 1969, the brochure in the photo is dated December 1934, it is the earliest reference that I have.  It was also mentioned in the January issue of the Leica News and Techniques publication. The only variation I have noted is that all of the nickel trim models do not have the engraving "Germany" while every one of the chrome trim HEBOO's do have the engraving.

If anyone has seen a prototype or another variation, a reply would be appreciated.  The HEBOO is not that hard to find, and makes a good addition to a Leica collection of the older models.

All the HEBOO's are identical, except for the finish of the non-painted parts which are in either nickel or chrome, and the engraving of the word "Germany" which only appears on the chrome ones.  The attachment shows a close up. I assume the nickel finish preceded the chrome.  It seems that nickel plating on cameras and accessories was mostly terminated and replaced with chrome by 1936 or so.
