jrp Posted November 7, 2015 Share #1 Posted November 7, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) My Noctilux does not click at 0.95; the first click is half a stop down. It's annoying, because the aperture ring often slips. Do others' Noctiluxes have the same feature?
Advertisement Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Hi jrp, Take a look here Noctilux 0.95 aperture click stop. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
farnz Posted November 7, 2015 Share #2 Posted November 7, 2015 I didn't notice this with mine although I'm not able to check now because I kept my f/1 and returned the f/0.95 to the wild. Pete.
FrozenInTime Posted November 8, 2015 Share #3 Posted November 8, 2015 Mine has a positive click stop at f/0.
jrp Posted November 8, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted November 8, 2015 Thanks. I'll take it back to be fixed.
sarav Posted November 9, 2015 Share #5 Posted November 9, 2015 It clicks at f/0.95.
FlashGordonPhotography Posted November 10, 2015 Share #6 Posted November 10, 2015 My Noctilux will rotate slightly past the 0.95 click. When I first got it I wondered what was going on. Are you sure you're not seeing the same behaviour? There should only be a single 1/2 stop between 0.95 and 1.4. Gordon
Sam Posted November 10, 2015 Share #7 Posted November 10, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Mine clicks and stops dead and doesn't go past 0.95.
Mornnb Posted November 10, 2015 Share #8 Posted November 10, 2015 Can anyone's go past and beyond 0.95? I want that version.
FlashGordonPhotography Posted November 10, 2015 Share #9 Posted November 10, 2015 Unfortunately the aperture doesn't open any wider. It's just the aperture ring doesn't stop dead on at 0.95. It was like that when I bought it (new). I suppose I could send it in but then I wouldn't see it for months and it's not affecting the performance or usability of the lens in any way. jrp Posted November 10, 2015 Author Share #10 Posted November 10, 2015 In my case, it click stops at 1/2 a stop below the 0.95 and can be opened further (the diaphragm disappears if you look inside the lens). However, there is not a clock at that further opening.

Surge Posted March 26, 2017 Share #15 Posted March 26, 2017 My Noctilux will rotate slightly past the 0.95 click. When I first got it I wondered what was going on. Are you sure you're not seeing the same behaviour? There should only be a single 1/2 stop between 0.95 and 1.4. Gordon Mine does this too. Very slightly. I guess it's not a big deal, but I would have thought it wouldn't, at this price!
Yarosuav Posted March 26, 2017 Share #16 Posted March 26, 2017 So does mine. So did two copies of 35mm FLE Lux I had. It's quite typical for Leica lenses.
