DigitalHeMan Posted November 21, 2015 Share #8 Posted November 21, 2015 What a joke! They are living in their own world at Solms. Just what a real Leica-fun needs! No they left Solms a couple of years ago into their own world in Wetzlar

flyalf Posted November 22, 2015 Share #11 Posted November 22, 2015 Hope this is true. The perfect fishing, hiking, mountaineering and kayaking camera. Its really strange that no-one has made this camera (except the Nikon tiny-sensor thing). I assume that the lens and IQ will be at least as good as the current X113, but hoping for a 24Mp sensor. mjh Posted November 22, 2015 Share #12 Posted November 22, 2015 I assume that the lens and IQ will be at least as good as the current X113, but hoping for a 24Mp sensor. As Leica is re-using the 113 type number I suppose it will be exactly like the X (Typ 113).
earleygallery Posted November 23, 2015 Share #13 Posted November 23, 2015 Nice idea, but it's sooooo ugly! Leica are aiming their products at the fashion conscious/hipster market these days, they need to rethink the design!
pop Posted November 23, 2015 Share #14 Posted November 23, 2015 Nice idea, but it's sooooo ugly! What do you expect from a camera that you're supposed to toss into the next river?
kkonkkrete Posted November 24, 2015 Share #15 Posted November 24, 2015 This is actually real cool and quite exciting, IMO!
bernie.lcf Posted November 27, 2015 Share #16 Posted November 27, 2015 What do you expect from a camera that you're supposed to toss into the next river? Well, Nikon can make a decent looking underwater camera (same spec: up to 15m), but I guess this is too much to ask from Leica... I don't want to spoil other people's party. I am sure, this will fett the needs of some folks out there and I am sure that some of these folks are actually able and wiling to spend 3k on a fixed focal length camera. But it needs to be said that this is a very small niche and we are moving (very away) away from "focusing on the essential".
nibbler Posted November 30, 2015 Share #17 Posted November 30, 2015 http://leicarumors.com/2015/11/26/leica-x-u-typ-113-camera-uk-price-2599-incl-vat.aspx/ x113 for underwater at $3000+? Rather get something else with an underwater house, although it does still do manual focus underwater...
FrozenInTime Posted November 30, 2015 Share #18 Posted November 30, 2015 x113 for underwater at $3000+? Rather get something else with an underwater house, although it does still do manual focus underwater... Puts it out of the outdoors market where rough handling and water resistance is sufficient. I think I will invest in a plastic bag and GH-3 hood for my Ricoh GR.
Steve Ash Posted November 30, 2015 Share #19 Posted November 30, 2015 Nice idea, but it's sooooo ugly! Leica are aiming their products at the fashion conscious/hipster market these days, they need to rethink the design! Maybe it is just a prove that your assumption that Leica is targeting the fashion conscious/hipster market is simply wrong.
rramesh Posted November 30, 2015 Share #20 Posted November 30, 2015 Now, this definitely needs a good underwater bag.
