Hi. I have a problem with my scanner and wondered if any of your members had either come across this type of scanning problem before or have any contacts in the service world you could put me in touch with.

The problem occurs with higher resolution scans. I'm getting a horizontal pattern across certain areas of the scan that appears to be a mechanical problem where the neg / pos momentarily sticks and continues over and over again. The springs do need replacing but they still have good tension and the cam belts have been replaced recently. Lower res scans where the drum moves more quickly are fine. The higher res scans where the drum moves more slowly is causing the problem.

I have spoken to hasselblad who don't service in the UK anymore and B23 aren't interested because I'm not prepared to post my scanner to another country with all the associated grief and cost. I did find a company in England who has set itself up to repair and service older scanners but they want £400 just look at it and perform a service. Both companies also refused to sell me the parts to service my scanner myself. :(

I've enclosed a short film to show the fault and a couple of stills of the drum axle as I'm concerned there may be a part missing. I'm using a G4 PPC 10.4 SCSI Flextight Precision One. Any help would be amazing. Many thanks.
