mjrp Posted October 17, 2015 Share #1 Posted October 17, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Morning I thought people might like to see how the S handles difficult conditions, these all at ISO 800 with the 24mm handheld, really great camera. Advertisement Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 Hi mjrp, Take a look here Steel works with the S 007. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
MarkP Posted October 17, 2015 Share #2 Posted October 17, 2015 Great photos. Photography is usually restricted in steelworks or was this for an assignment?
mjrp Posted October 17, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted October 17, 2015 It's a commercial assignment, just a recce trip but will be returning for better shots soon. Mat
MarkP Posted October 17, 2015 Share #4 Posted October 17, 2015 Good chance to do some personal B&Ws (Kessel or Becher-style).
mjrp Posted October 17, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted October 17, 2015 I only had an hour but yes, I have some really nice b&w conversions, what I really like is the frame completely full of things, you can look in to them and see something different every time. MarkP Posted October 17, 2015 Share #6 Posted October 17, 2015 Can you post the B&Ws? I'd really like to see them.
mjrp Posted October 17, 2015 Author Share #7 Posted October 17, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sure, here are a couple of quick edits, I will work on them more when I have time.
MarkP Posted October 17, 2015 Share #8 Posted October 17, 2015 Thanks. I much prefer B&W for such work as I find that colour distracts from form and texture.
mjrp Posted October 17, 2015 Author Share #9 Posted October 17, 2015 Thats a very personal thing, I like both but for me the shots with the orange glow from the molten metal just work so much better in colour, same with a lot of the steelwork in the building, it's dirty and those dirty colours look really nice. It's all good!
stuny Posted October 17, 2015 Share #10 Posted October 17, 2015 A beautiful set. if you weren't already there on assignment I'll bet they'd buy these from you.
mjrp Posted October 17, 2015 Author Share #11 Posted October 17, 2015 Thanks stuny, it's a great location. These are not the final shots but yes, the client is really happy! The new S is a superb camera for this higher ISO handheld stuff whilst retaining good quality in the file, I'm very happy with it. gwpics Posted October 17, 2015 Share #12 Posted October 17, 2015 Really nice set Matt, and certainly both you and the camera performed well. Erry
