fotografr Posted October 14, 2015 Share #1 Posted October 14, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I think this deer thought I couldn't see her because she was framed by grasses and tree branches. Advertisement Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Hi fotografr, Take a look here Framed. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pauledell Posted October 14, 2015 Share #2 Posted October 14, 2015 Brent, An excellent shot with the framing, the lighting, colors and sharpness. I have experienced the same situation of standing completely still and having a deer stare at me while frozen in her tracks allowing me to get a perfect shot with my Nikon F3 and 200mm lens. fotografr Posted October 14, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted October 14, 2015 Thanks, Paul. I wish you could post your shot here but it was probably a Nikkor lens, right?

stuny Posted October 14, 2015 Share #5 Posted October 14, 2015 Terrific. I've found they are often exhibit the "wait and see" behavior in suburban areas.

fotografr Posted October 15, 2015 Author Share #7 Posted October 15, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Iduna, Stuart and Dee, thanks very much. Dee, they really are pretty animals. I've never been able to figure out how hunters pull the trigger to instantly end their lives. I'm not being judgmental, just saying I can't do it. Northwest Wanderer Posted October 15, 2015 Share #9 Posted October 15, 2015 Nice image Brent. Once while out hiking I feel asleep against a tree. When I awoke to my surprise a herd of elk were gazing all around me. They continued to graze until I moved a little to get my camera. It seems they didn't view me as a threat until they picked up on motion.

When I awoke to my surprise a herd of elk were gazing all around me. They continued to graze until I moved a little to get my camera. It seems they didn't view me as a threat until they picked up on motion. What a neat experience that would be. I'm glad it was a herd of elk and not a family of Grizzlies.
