Mt Taranaki from Whakapapa Skifield

I had my M Edition 60 with me when I went skiing last week (slushy spring snow).  I had put on my 28 Summicron ASPH for the day, without noticing it had an orange filter on it.  The SEP add-on doesn't seem to work with LightRoom CC 2015 (Grrrr), so I did a B&W conversion in LightRoom, then adjusted exposure and contrast.

In Maori mythology, Mt Taranaki (in the distance) used to be located in National Park, near to Mt Tongariro, Mt Ngaruhoe (both behind me when I took this shot) & Mt Ruapehu (which I'm standing on) - Mt Taranaki and Mt Tongariro were both in love with Mt Pihanga (a modest but perfectly formed peak that barely qualifies as a mountain further around behind me - it's just a hill, really).  When Mt Tongariro prevailed, Mt Taranaki was banished to the west coast.

On a clear day, (as here) Mt Taranaki floats in the distance.

Cheers

John
