Leica SGR?

I just bought a lot of gear from the estate of Tom Lee ("History Repeats"), including a Barnack IIIf and 3 MPs. One of them appears to be some special edition model — an "SGR" with a classic vulcanite covering and no meter, circa 2004. I can't find doodly-squat about this model on the internet; anyone know about it?

I don't know anything about "SGR" but your description (including the year) fits that of the MP Classic.

That appears to be it. I didn't get the 50mm 'cron or the strap listed in that description, but I did get a black 50mm 'lux, as well as a chrome 35mm 'cron and a (different, not special edition) black 50mm 'cron. I wonder why the various serial number charts I found listed this as an SGR?

It could be for the Schmidt Marketing Group.

Even auf Deutsch, that would be SMG. Or possibly SVG/SAG, depending on which word for 'marketing' you use. How do you figure? GR for Gruppe?
