I don't use the ignore list myself, so I could not say. However:

 

Does the forum show the posts by that member(s) or does it just show the posts when quoted? 

Have you closed and re-opened the browser since adding the said member(s) to your ignore list?

Do you have subscribed to any threads and are the unwanted posts part of those threads?

Oh I  don't think there is a hard limit on ignored members? I just looked and over a number of years here I have 14 pages of members that I don't wish to hear! If a name pops up and I look anyway, it seldom makes me change my mind ;-)
