I had a 50mm f2 Summicron with a loose built in hood, giant front focus, overly light aperture click stops, and a rough spot focusing   Sent it to Mr. Goldberg on Sept 15 and got it back on Sept 25.  CLA and repair all the mentioned issues.  $140 and I'm very pleased with the service.  Should you be interested, he advised that an M240 rangefinder calibration was also about $140 and would take about two weeks.

Also had my mp serviced by don and it's working flawlessly. my experience with don has been far better than dealing with the local repairer camera clinic. Even with our low currency exchange it's surprisingly cheaper too. Would highly recommend don for your beloved leicas

Hi Howard.  Where you been hiding?

Greetings, Rick! Been doing less photography of late and shutting up more on the forum. :)

Thanks for the hello. Hope things are going well with you!

I've sent cameras and lenses to Don for over 35 years.  He is the best.  He just finished repairing a MOOLY-C

winder for me.   This is not easy.  It took a few months, but that's just fine because very few people on the planet

can even do this at all.  When I needed a camera repaired  for professional work, I would tell him I needed it back

quickly for a job which meant a flight to somewhere.  If he knew I needed it for a job, he would almost always get it back to me on time.  But if I sent him a collector piece (MOOLY-C), then I would tell him to just take his time and do it when he felt like it.

Don't send him a ragged out IIIb and say you need it for a job next week.  Over the years, I have always told Don

the truth about what I am sending in for work.

I would make Don an American National Treasure like Japan does for their super-skilled artists.

Ciao,  Sully
