When in Morocco many years ago, we took part in a traditional welcoming ceremony in the desert. A sugar block was broken with a golden bronze hammer, whose head had the shape of a goat and was superbly decorated with silver and stone inserts. Bits of sugar were distributed as a symbol of welcome and friendship. At our much pleased surprise, at the end of the gathering the "chief" offered us the hammer. A precious souvenir.
