Choose whichever alternative title above suits your imagination. May the light be with you and enjoy the experience. Entry requirements: (Corrected) An LTM body MUST be used. Any brand lens may be used. At least one component must be Leica branded. It would be a good idea if a German speaking member could translate the above and post it here and perhaps in the German Forum as well. Advertisement Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Hi erl, Take a look here 28th Barnack Challenge - "Outside looking in" OR "Inside looking out". I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
250swb Posted September 21, 2015 Share #2 Posted September 21, 2015 Thank you Erl, it sounds like a rich subject. One clarification if possible would be appreciated, does the new rule in red indicate a digital camera with say a 5cm Elmar is OK, or does it simply cover the possibility of using a Canon or Voigtlander LTM body with a Barnack lens? erl Posted September 21, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted September 21, 2015 Steve, I can't imagine anything digital being permitted. Canon, Voigtlander, Nikon LTM components are included, provided a Leica LTM component is also included. Somewhere there must be an historical set of rules but I don't know where. They apply as in the past. Anyone having a link to them is invited to post them for general education. The whole idea is to promote and enjoy our old gear. Not mix it with newer digital stuff, that has it's own mystique.
250swb Posted September 21, 2015 Share #4 Posted September 21, 2015 Thanks Erl, it just struck me as ambiguous. Steve
erl Posted September 21, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted September 21, 2015 Steve, it probably was! It illustrates that I am not exactly 'up to speed' regarding gear components.
erl Posted September 28, 2015 Author Share #6 Posted September 28, 2015 Depending on where you are in the world, the 28th Barnack Challenge has, or is about to start! Dust off your beautiful Barnack cameras (you should be using them all the time anyway!) and address the challenge. Please try to shoot several options so that we can open an 'outtakes' thread after the judging. That often IMO produces some of the better pics! Enjoy the camera and the light.
erl Posted October 12, 2015 Author Share #7 Posted October 12, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Heads up to intending competitors. The nominal time for taking pics is nearly up. The next two weeks you have for processing, scanning and posting your brilliant images. Remember to keep some outtakes for posting in a separate thread once the voting is decided. These are often better pics, IMO. I have my pictures (entry and outtakes) ready and will open the posting thread with it it in a day or so. You are welcome to post yours as as you wish when the thread is opened. I will post a link here for that thread when it is created.

ironringer Posted October 20, 2015 Share #10 Posted October 20, 2015 Could the management please clarify - are pictures taken earlier than September 28, 2015 not eligible?
erl Posted October 20, 2015 Author Share #11 Posted October 20, 2015 Could the management please clarify - are pictures taken earlier than September 28, 2015 not eligible? Pictures shot outside the stated time frame are not eligible. Please see post #1 above for precise details on dates etc. Note that I made a mistake in one of the dates but have since corrected it, as per post #1, such that a two week window of shooting time is offered.
