phlash46 Posted September 16, 2015 Share #1 Posted September 16, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've tried the Metz 44 AF-1 firmware version 3.0 and the Panasonic DMC FL360L and neither is fully compatible with the 114. Apparently the only TTL capable flash with this unit is the beautiful but very limited cf-22. Damn!!
Advertisement Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Hi phlash46, Take a look here I'm bummed on type 114 flash options. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted September 17, 2015 Share #2 Posted September 17, 2015 TTL flash is overrated. You get virtually the same results with any automatic flash.
Tom Barry Posted September 18, 2015 Share #3 Posted September 18, 2015 I've tried the Metz 44 AF-1 firmware version 3.0 and the Panasonic DMC FL360L and neither is fully compatible with the 114. Apparently the only TTL capable flash with this unit is the beautiful but very limited cf-22. Damn!! Are you sure about that? I use the FL360L on my FZ1000 and have had no trouble using any of the modes, including TTL.

Quite sure. There must be something in the firm wear that is a problem. It didn't recognize the flash at all.
Tom Barry Posted September 20, 2015 Share #5 Posted September 20, 2015 Quite sure. There must be something in the firm wear that is a problem. It didn't recognize the flash at all. That's disappointing to hear. Perhaps Leica will issue a firmware update if the issue comes to its attention...
dhsimmonds Posted September 21, 2015 Share #6 Posted September 21, 2015 That's disappointing to hear. Perhaps Leica will issue a firmware update if the issue comes to its attention... As the VLux series is coming from Panasonic I would presume that firmware updates are also from Panasonic. If the Lumix FZ1000 does not need it, it might be a very long wait indeed! Tom Barry Posted September 21, 2015 Share #7 Posted September 21, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) You'd think that the long-term relationship between Panasonic and Leica would lead to an immediate solution to the problem - since what reflects badly on the one reflects badly on the other. phlash46 Posted November 3, 2015 Author Share #8 Posted November 3, 2015 I've tried the Metz 44 AF-1 firmware version 3.0 and the Panasonic DMC FL360L and neither is fully compatible with the 114. Apparently the only TTL capable flash with this unit is the beautiful but very limited cf-22. Damn!! I was wrong! The Panasonic works on both. On the 114 you must be in Manual, not Electronic, shutter mode.u

HFNotts Posted November 8, 2015 Share #11 Posted November 8, 2015 The Cactus system works perfectly with the 114 and has the benefit of multi flash units and they do not have to be Cactus flash units either.
