eritho Posted September 6, 2015 Share #1 Posted September 6, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I use five M lenses, all uncoded, and of course, like most others, I mostly forget to change lens info in the menu when changing lens. Is there any way of changing this info in the EXIF file afterwards? Normally I notice this when opening the picture in Lightroom, but I can't find a way to change it in LR. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

geotrupede Posted September 17, 2015 Share #3 Posted September 17, 2015 if you have access to a command line interface and are happy to play with it, then exiftool is a great program the good thing is that you could write a script and change many photos at once based on any formula you needed http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/ g
eritho Posted September 17, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted September 17, 2015 Thank you but exiftool looks too complicated for "an old man" like myself :-)

jaapv Posted September 17, 2015 Share #7 Posted September 17, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) In that case Windows Explorer is a good tool. Go to Properties and click the Details tab. You can now edit a most of the metadata Otherwise try Picasa.

terrycym Posted September 17, 2015 Share #9 Posted September 17, 2015 Thank you Jaap. I know explorer works for changing in jpg files but I can't find a way to change dng files. Is it possible too? Have you installed Adobe's DNG codec?
Guest )-( Posted September 17, 2015 Share #10 Posted September 17, 2015 This is what I use. http://www.essl.de/wp/software/lenstagger-lightroom-plugin/ +1. This is all you need. It's incredibly easy to use. No Command Lines or Coding. It's consistent over time as you can apply exactly the same EXIF everytime you use that lens. It's easy to incorporate into a workflow. You just run the simple process after import to Lightroom. I'm not sure why you'd want to manually change every single image in Windows Explorer over an integrated bulk solution like LensTagger. http://www.essl.de/wp/how-to-use-lenstagger/
jaapv Posted September 18, 2015 Share #11 Posted September 18, 2015 In that case have a look at PhotoMe, although I am not quite sure whether it supports all kinds of DNG files. I used it a lot before I moved to Mac, quite some years ago, and it worked fine.
jmahto Posted October 1, 2015 Share #12 Posted October 1, 2015 (edited) Lenstagger Lightroom plugin works great but only on the master copies. It doesn't do anything to the virtual copies metadata that are already created. Anybody found a solution to that? Don't ask me to delete and create virtual copy again. It is too much work.
