S (typ 007) sensor fault?

Got mine today and took some "test" photos before charging the battery. I opened photos with LR CC and noticed there is five blue vertical lines in every photo. Also some bright lines and white pixels occurred.

Could also be your battery that needs to get to it's optimum.

IIRC Leica has a dedicated sensor remapping service for the S. Call Wetzlar.

Based upon your other post regarding lenses, you seem to be very unlucky with your Leica gear. Sorry to hear that....

Looks like (rows of) bad pixels, or something else fishy with the sensor. Just swap it for a good, new one. I would not except software remapping with a brand new camera, as jaapv suggests.

Good and bad news!

 

I will get replace camera (good) but when, only Lord knows that (bad). I got full refund while waiting so it may take long time.

 

What i'd hear, production line of 007 is halted until problems are solved. My instincts says it'll take months...

 

So something good and lots of bad.

Okay, they need time to work something out. I'd say it's good they're on top of it. This is Leica, the new S is going to be a great camera, I'm sure.

 

If the production line of 007 really is halted, this is news. I wonder how long it takes the other fora to catch on about this.

Information about halting the production came from retailer. I asked how long it takes to get replacement, that's what he told me. He was talking with Leica's staff earlier today.

I cannot imagine that one instance of a bad sensor would cause a halt to the production unless there are other reported ones we are not aware of. A lot of folks on this forum were waiting for this camera and I know a lot have received theirs so I would guess we would have heard of more.

This was second hand information so i can't proof it anyhow. I really hope this is just one camera affected so we get ours in near future.

 

There was also words "production transfers" what might relate production halting somehow.

Mine arrive at the dealer today so it seems unlikely that there is any delay in production!!
