BBHewee Posted September 2, 2015 Share #1 Posted September 2, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello apart from the 12589 which comes with the lens, and the eye-waterlingly expensive 12644 Robin Hood, what have you guys fitted on your Luxes? cheers
Advertisement Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Hi BBHewee, Take a look here Hood options for Summilux 35 ASPH pre-FLE. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lct Posted September 2, 2015 Share #2 Posted September 2, 2015 12644? You mean 12466 i guess. The 12588 (left) has the same size and cap (right) as the 12589 (middle). It is in fact the same hood w/o the locking ring of the latter. This way the hood does not get in the way when rotating the aperture ring but the 12588 tends to detach itself much more easily from the lens so apart from the 12466, the 12589 remains the best option IMHO. Thanks! In the world you'll have to read Chinese or Japanese i suspect. In Europe you'll just need to be lucky or patient.

IWC Doppel Posted September 3, 2015 Share #9 Posted September 3, 2015 28mm summicron hood fits as well, nicer than the original IMO and close in look to the Aspherical hood
lct Posted September 3, 2015 Share #10 Posted September 3, 2015 (edited) 28mm summicron hood fits as well, nicer than the original IMO... Matter of tastes... Too big for me... YMMV. henning Posted September 4, 2015 Share #11 Posted September 4, 2015 (edited) I dislike the hood for the 28 Summicron so much that I use the 12589 hood for the 35 for my 28. I works well and does not vignette. Edited September 4, 2015 by henning
IWC Doppel Posted September 4, 2015 Share #12 Posted September 4, 2015 Horses for courses I'd take the 28mm Summicron hood in preference
