Four photographs from a recent trip to New York, I spent some time playing with the selective colour filter.

Hi everyone,

I am a new proud owner of this camera and here is a short excerpt from my first test

I think I love it already and I had a question: 12MP is a fair bit in 2016 or not ? for you is good enough ?...
otherwise it takes beautiful pictures, but it is on paper?

Thank you for your comments

Ps: sorry for my English

I have printed 109 images over 1 meter wide, they look amazing at that size.

Thanks.  I don't mind the menu system.  It's much easier to navigate than the menus on the Olympus EM-5.  But I much prefer the simplicity of the XVario.  My real problem with the 109 is the challenge of seeing through the viewfinder on a bright day.

While I no longer own the D 109, nonetheless it was very capable.  For me, it was the menu system that I never warmed up to.

Gosh, the more I think about it, how about that new camera I proposed...

***The Leica Q [Typ 116] [for build quality and larger sensor], with the same effective lens [fantastic!] as the D-Lux [Typ 109]***

We could accept an APS-C sensor if necessary to cut size and costs [keeping in mind that the 109 was TOO small...only with the accessory handgrip was it comfortable], and max aperture could [barely] go to f2 at the wide end and f4 at the long.

Sure, the fly-by-wire focus is awful, but we'd have the great 109 AF. Yes, the tiny zoom 'glass shard' pimple makes the fingertip sore and takes too long..would love manual control on both.

But, I'd still buy it at double the 109 price.

I'm loving the Typ 109 for both color and b&w.

The files are very different from the 50MB files I'm used to...but seem to make beautiful prints.

All-in-all, I'm very happy with the camera and results. Not to say there aren't ergo issues and things I'd change.

My one wish would be for the Q 116 to be updated with DL 109 lens [reducing the sensor to APS-C if necessary...they're awfully good at this point]. Then I could die a happy man. ;)
