ShivaYash Posted August 25, 2015 Share #1 Posted August 25, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've been a Match customer since the early days and still have my model 1 on the M8. Today I got the latest version of the thumb grip for the M-E and it is just wonderful, the new rubber addition is a welcome feature, as is the slight contour. I was using the model 1 on no issues but the M-E looks and feels better with the improved design. And Tim is the nicest person to deal with. If you need a grip for your digital M, I can recommend Match Technical without hesitation. Their soft releases aren't bad either! I just hope I don't lose mine.
Advertisement Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Hi ShivaYash, Take a look here Match Technical - Thumbs Up. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
run23 Posted August 30, 2015 Share #2 Posted August 30, 2015 Absolutely agreed! With the way I hold my camera, my M9 would be a lot less useable without the Thumbs Up, and I'd probably drop the camera pretty often. With the Thumbs Up my M9 fits in my hand better than any other camera I've had; without the TU, not so much.
rfunnell Posted September 8, 2015 Share #3 Posted September 8, 2015 I have just ordered my TU for a new M-E and have had many TU's over the past few years from Tim and he is a gentleman . Wonderful product and makes the camera a joy to use .

AceVentura1986 Posted September 17, 2015 Share #5 Posted September 17, 2015 Bought a silver chrome one for my ME years ago, coordinates nicely w the ME's chrome accents.
sblutter Posted September 26, 2015 Share #6 Posted September 26, 2015 I prefer the streamlined, non-hotshoe Thumbie (ebay). Has not budged since Day 1, does not harm body surface. Thumbs Up catches on clothing, camera bag...
Robert M Poole Posted September 26, 2015 Share #7 Posted September 26, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm thinking of getting a thumbie for my m9. I've got the Thumbs up for my fujis but The Thumbs up are so expensive and the used ones get snapped up quickly.
adespen Posted September 26, 2015 Share #8 Posted September 26, 2015 Congrats on the ThumbsUp. Tim is great and told me to use Teflon tape around the soft release thread to tighten it. All is wonderfully comfortable.
Robert M Poole Posted September 26, 2015 Share #9 Posted September 26, 2015 Congrats on the ThumbsUp. Tim is great and told me to use Teflon tape around the soft release thread to tighten it. All is wonderfully comfortable.A lot on the Fuji x forum use small o-rings to stop them coming lose. There's always the worry with tape (or clear nail varnish as some use) that it might gum up the internal workings. I just make tightening up the soft release a habit everytime my finger is on the trigger.
Snap Happy Posted June 28, 2016 Share #10 Posted June 28, 2016 I prefer the streamlined, non-hotshoe Thumbie (ebay). Has not budged since Day 1, does not harm body surface. Thumbs Up catches on clothing, camera bag... I just purchased a Thumbie. I like the idea, and was very happy playing around with it at home. But as soon as I went out it annoyed me so much I removed it immediately. On vertical shots it poked me on the chin! From then on it was generally in the way, or so it seemed. I hold the camera in the opposite way than the manual recommends for vertical shots, but I don't plan on changing that - so the Thumbie had to go. It's a real shame, as I hoped to get the feel of the film advance lever.
IWC Doppel Posted June 28, 2016 Share #11 Posted June 28, 2016 Wouldn't be without mine I shoot portrait in the opposite way to most and have no issues
