yes, it's an art installation, where everybody may buy these little men - the red ones already were sold out next to the yellow fellowes where only the last few still were available.

These plastic figures have been designed with inspiration by the traffic signs for pedestrians in the former "German Democratic Republic" (GDR = DDR), the eastern part of Germany from 1945 until 1989.

I've got only little information about square dance, but when I remind having seen probably some of these rough boys in old western films like Clark Gable, Kirk Douglas, Burt Lancaster, John Wayne, Dean Martin, Lee Van Cleef or others they always danced with beautiful women like...

 

Poor little lonesome men... :)
