Which older E39 chrome filters are coated?

Could knowledgeable users please tell us which (older) E39 chrome-rim filters are coated? More specifically, are any E39 chrome-rim filters from the 1960s-1980s coated? Without handling them, is there any way to tell from a picture or visible markings which filters are coated?

I seem to remember hearing that rim markings in CAPITALS identify more recent, coated filters. But maybe that is only a rumour, not fact.

Clarification from the experts would be appreciated so I can shop for coated E39 filters with chrome rim.

In response to my inquiry, one eBay seller of Leica accessories believes that chrome-rim filters marked (on the rim) with RED LETTERS "UVa" are single coated.

He believes that earlier versions marked with a black "UVa" are not coated. This is based on his checking several E39 chrome-rim filters for reflections, and comparing with (better) multi-coated filters from quality manufacturers.

Do any Forum members have access to the factory, to ask knowledgeable people about Leica filter coating, and when it first started, and how to identify coated filters from style or markings? Many Leica enthusiasts believe that Leica always outsourced their filters from other suppliers, so their coating may be difficult to investigate.
