The Sturgeon River in the Michigan Upper Peninsula is free flowing and wild following the removal of a dam which previously had flooded this canyon and formed a large backwater lake. This is four images stitched into a Panorama.

Wild and free river.

That sounds good to me. Too many dams that serve no purpose.

I completely agree. Even though I really miss being able to canoe on the backwater lake that the dam once formed, I have to admit the river is most beautiful in its natural state.
