Northwest Wanderer Posted July 29, 2015 Share #1 Posted July 29, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Elk antlers are prized in the western U.S. This stack of collected antlers make for an interesting photo. The broken tips are the result of rodents chewing on the antlers for nourishment. Welcome, dear visitor! pauledell Posted July 30, 2015 Share #4 Posted July 30, 2015 Beautiful composition with the patterns, great smooth tones and fine sharpness. Is this the elk antler arch in Jackson Wyoming? Paul
Northwest Wanderer Posted July 30, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted July 30, 2015 Hello Paul, No, it's a stack of antlers at the National Bison Range in western Montana. The Bison Range is a much overlooked treasure for viewing wildlife it its natural setting. Look at the attached image of two buck mule deer. Just amazing to see in person. So glad there is no hunting at this location. I've seen the arches down in Jackson and they are truly magnificent to view. Welcome, dear visitor! Northwest Wanderer Posted August 1, 2015 Author Share #10 Posted August 1, 2015 Thank you Dee. The image started out as the entire antler stack but I found this crop more appealing.
