jaapv Posted July 29, 2015 Share #2 Posted July 29, 2015 Sorry, I do not follow your question. I see nothing extraordinary, not on the image you posted, nor on my camera when I tried.

LeicaBoss Posted July 29, 2015 Share #6 Posted July 29, 2015 Ah, now I see a very vague CRT television shaped 'square' within your LCD. I can't check it on my M240 right now, but maybe another forum member can help you now with this description.
azuled Posted July 29, 2015 Share #7 Posted July 29, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I believe mine does that as well, but I'm not 100% sure and it isn't sitting in front of me. I certainly recognized the pattern when I saw it on your image above though. It's almost like someone fogged a mirror and then it mostly evaporated off in the center but left a slight discoloration on the edges.
jakontil Posted July 29, 2015 Share #8 Posted July 29, 2015 I believe mine does that as well, but I'm not 100% sure and it isn't sitting in front of me. azuled Posted July 29, 2015 Share #9 Posted July 29, 2015 I'll test it out later, I think you have to have just the right conditions to see it though.
jdlaing Posted July 29, 2015 Share #10 Posted July 29, 2015 It's normal and not burned. What you're seeing is the outline of the screen mask on the border.
250swb Posted August 1, 2015 Share #11 Posted August 1, 2015 It's normal and not burned. What you're seeing is the outline of the screen mask on the border. No calibrated monitor? OP, yes I can easily see the soft rectangle that looks a bit like fogging around the edge of the LCD. No idea what it might be, could it be the shadow of the clear protector that the camera has from new, or a cleaning patch on the inside if it can't be polished off, but perhaps a sort of low level noise that goes away as the screen becomes brighter in normal operations? If you have taken the clear protector off try polishing the screen with alcohol and see if it's just a relic of the tacky backing. lct Posted August 1, 2015 Share #12 Posted August 1, 2015 My M240 does not seem to show this mask at all. Tried to change the LCD brightness in different ways and to look at the LCD in the dark, to no avail so far. Do you see that with the naked eye or only on pictures of the LCD? riswanc Posted August 1, 2015 Author Share #13 Posted August 1, 2015 Hi guys, I have tried all the things suggested And i used to see it with naked eyes To my surprise my other black m-p also inhabits this phenomenon But bear in mind This actually happens in the screen when u try to upgrade the firmware only
250swb Posted August 1, 2015 Share #14 Posted August 1, 2015 This actually happens in the screen when u try to upgrade the firmware only Posibly then a feature of using very low power so as not to deplete the battery during crucial firmware updates? Cougar159 Posted August 14, 2015 Share #17 Posted August 14, 2015 After my extensive checks and confirmations, this LCD phenomenon on happens to 1) Leica MP240 2) Leica MP246 It is almost certain only during firmware upgrade. I had contacted Leica Singapore and Leica Wetzlar. Both do not seem to be aware of the problem.
