It's raining and THAT is why the Leica M10 really leaves me cold at the moment - lucky for the bank deposit too ;-) thank you Mrs. SP, you are soooooo lovely:

Leica S2 + 35/2.5 + SF58 + Nikon SB900 - yes, I know, I should have taken the ladder and used that 120/4 Carl-Zeiss APO Makro Planar but couldn't be assed to the troubles … waiting for that pesky rain to go away!

Kawabata's "Snow Country" was one of three novels which led him to win the Nobel Prize for Literature and is the story of an aging "Onsen" Geisha fading away in the winter snows of Hokkaido (note Onsen Geisha were very different than the Geiko of Kyoto who take pride in being women of Arts/Mind). Once a year, I (along with a very small group of photographers) travel with a Maiko (Geisha in training) and try to photograph her in the silence of the snow. The Maiko Konami shown here is 17 and in her first year as a Maiko and this is part of a 4-6 year project of photographing her till she becomes a Geiko.

Leica S006 + Summarit S-70

I was walking on the beach this afternoon with my dog, Piper, and camera, when this young lady came up, inquired about the camera, bent over to pet Piper, and then posed for a picture.  Some days you just get lucky. ;)
