Daylight makes the difference

It makes sense, and testing was certainly not indispensable. But I did it, aiming my V-Lux 20 at same subjects at 9 pm and at noon the day after. No art, just technique:

- a hill topped by a geodesic tower, about 5 km away;

- the suspension system of the rocking chair where I sat to take the pictures;

- part of Faro city, seen from my terrace.

A good experiment.  It seems your best results are at noon although that goes against conventional wisdom of taking pictures in early morning or late afternoon.

In agree, Paul, and I must say I was also surprised by the results. The more that sun is especially strong (and terribly hot) here these days, but the air is very dry and improves sharpness.
