ChrisRL Posted July 20, 2015 Share #2 Posted July 20, 2015 Most probably dust. If and when it bugs you enough, a CLA might be in order. Best C

Anybody any idea what it may be Cheers Tug I've had the same thing for years. When I sent the camera to Leica to have the sensor replaced, I asked them to clean the speck out of the evf. They replaced the sensor (at no charge) but didn't clean the evf. Although it has no effect on the pictures. I don't use the camera anymore and thinking of selling it. Etienne Posted February 7, 2016 Share #6 Posted February 7, 2016 Is it easy to clean the EVF yourself? From what I could see from a disassembly of the Panasonic equivalent, the EVF appears to come as one single pre-assembled unit. I assume that makes it more difficult. corson Posted May 16, 2016 Share #7 Posted May 16, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is it easy to clean the EVF yourself? From what I could see from a disassembly of the Panasonic equivalent, the EVF appears to come as one single pre-assembled unit. I assume that makes it more difficult. I cleaned an EVF about 2 months ago.The actual cleaning part is easy. It's getting access to it that is tricky. The PCB board must have most of the connectors removed. For extra safety I removed all of them. The connector from the EVF to the board is very small and you will need tweezers and maybe a sowing needle tio tweak it out.It is vey delicate and easily damaged.Once the board is detached, there is only one single screw holding the EVF in place.Once removed it's easy to strip and clean.5 minutes. However don't overtighten the screws on re-assembly as this can make the dioptre wheel stiff. Hope this helps.
