Advertisement Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Hi Louis, Take a look here Digilux 4?.... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ChrisRL Posted July 17, 2015 Share #2 Posted July 17, 2015 Hmm. D'you think that Leica will come up with a red dot version of this camera?
Louis Posted July 17, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted July 17, 2015 If they do, I am sure they would sell a lot of them! Just look the crazy sell of defective 109!... This one looks quite interesting; and, hopefully, not with the problems D-Lux is having!
ChrisRL Posted July 17, 2015 Share #4 Posted July 17, 2015 Fingers crossed! Best Chris
Louis Posted July 17, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted July 17, 2015 I hope in September, in Photokina, Leica will come with some nice surprises!.... For instance, a kind of XV with in-body EVF (like Q) and interchangeable lens would be my dream!
dhsimmonds Posted July 17, 2015 Share #6 Posted July 17, 2015 Leica used to be in the 4/3 sensor segment of the camera business but pulled out of it some time ago. Whilst the type 109 is a great little camera and uses some of the m4/3 sensor. it does in fact crop the sensor depending on the framing format selected. The recently announced GH8 is the latest in a long line of "G" digital cameras produced by Panasonic and Leica have never taken up any of the previous also excellent G m4/3 cameras. A more interesting question is whether Leica ever regretted their decision to pull out of 4/3 cameras and rather publicly announce that they would concentrate on larger format sensors! To be fair, 4/3rd's struggled for a number of years until Olympus rather like Leica were forced to change sensor providers after the demise of Kodak and only then and also the change to the m4/3rds lens mount system; did 4/3rds really take off in a very big way for both Panasonic and Olympus. In fact the Leica name still lives on in 4/3rds but only on used lens labels, as many genuine old Leica lenses are still revered amongst the 4/3rds aficionados. However, better still are the excellent Leica badged G m4/3 lenses made by Panasonic to Leica's approved design and QC standards. The 42.5mm Nocticron is just sublime! earleygallery Posted July 17, 2015 Share #7 Posted July 17, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) If you like the look of that Panasonic just buy it! A Leica version would be identical.
Guest Posted July 18, 2015 Share #8 Posted July 18, 2015 If you like the look of that Panasonic just buy it! A Leica version would be identical. And considerably more expensive. BrianP
