wildlightphoto Posted July 11, 2015 Share #2 Posted July 11, 2015 Is it me or have the Leica Oskar Barnack Awards lost their direction? It's not just you. I can think of two possible explanations: 1. My taste in Art is at the plebeian level 2. The Emperor has no clothes

If you think it is shit just say so, no need to be so coy. Whether the Barnack Awards has lost direction I'm not sure what direction it is meant to be going in. I would agree that the latest awards doesn't seem to be a vintage year – quite a lot of derivative stuff (including, I think, the winning entry) – but there is still plenty IMO that is interesting and enjoyable to view. As to being in focus and well lit, there are many accessible shortlisted projects that presumably meet your standards? http://www.leica-oskar-barnack-award.com/en/submissions/leica-oskar-barnack-award/10633-yvonne-de-rosa-1/8 http://www.leica-oskar-barnack-award.com/en/submissions/leica-oskar-barnack-award/9240-dumas-julien-1 http://www.leica-oskar-barnack-award.com/en/submissions/leica-oskar-barnack-award/10379-patrick-tourneboeuf-1 http://www.leica-oskar-barnack-award.com/en/submissions/leica-oskar-barnack-award/9309-gideon-mendel-1 http://www.leica-oskar-barnack-award.com/en/submissions/leica-oskar-barnack-newcomer-award/9173-jan-duefelsiek-1

tyler Posted November 21, 2015 Share #6 Posted November 21, 2015 I stopped entering a few years ago, when it seem, the judging was taken over by "academia" types. The end of a very prestigious award... tyler
