Battery for mp and m6

Recommended Posts

When I first got my "mint" M6 I couldn't find the recommended batteries anywhere locally and ordering them would be a pain.

Bought a pair of LR44 batteries. Initially they didn't work and I thought the new batteries were dead till I gave the battery compartment and cap a rub with a dry Q-tip then it worked perfectly.

My 'new' M6 came with LR44 Panasonic, which works just fine.

From the M6 manual:

From the M6 manual:

If it's getting very cold the Lithium batteries 1/3 N are the best for any M6, but these are hard to find at normal electronic markets.

LR44s apparently don't maintain even voltage as they deplete which may supposedly risk causing metering inaccuracies. I have used them on occasion but haven't noticed any differences in exposures (or any inaccuracy was hidden by my bad metering skills  ).
