earleygallery Posted June 25, 2015 Share #2 Posted June 25, 2015 Hi, There is no such thing as best. What lens are you currently using? What is it that you want from a different lens? What are you main criteria, i.e. speed, size, cost, type of look (older lens/newer lens) etc.?
rdnhhs Posted June 25, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted June 25, 2015 Well, I just looking for recommendation or suggestion on 35mm lens. I know Leica got the best lens like summicron and summilux.
earleygallery Posted June 25, 2015 Share #4 Posted June 25, 2015 No, they're not 'best' for everyone or every application. They're excellent lenses of course, but may not be best all times. I use a Voigtlander Skopar on my M2, super little lens and 'best' for me.
rdnhhs Posted June 25, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted June 25, 2015 I see. That's a nice lens you got there. Shoot on concerts lights before?
stephen.w Posted June 25, 2015 Share #6 Posted June 25, 2015 There are no bad M-mount 35mm lenses. It will depend on your preferences in terms of size, speed and behaviour (resistance to flare, focus shift, etc). I have used only Leica and Zeiss (no experience with CV), and Zeiss lenses are good value and very close to Leica in terms of performance -- in some models and on certain parameters some would even say they are better than their Leica equivalents. On a limited budget, I would get either the Zeiss f/2 or f/2.8, or else a V2 or V3 Summicron -- bear in mind that those made in Canada are optically and mechanically identical to those made in Germany, but sell for significantly lower prices.
